Like many, I can't stand automated attendants. Don't know what one is? See the wiki for more info on automated attendants.
Why do I not like them? Most often they are a complete waste of time. I believe it would be possible to make them worthwhile, but too often are they programmed poorly and send callers around in circles, and delay them from getting to the information or functionality they need.
Recently I called up my insurance company and the automated attendant was so bad that I decided to move my policy to one of their competitors.
I have to ask - has anyone else done something similar?
