I've actually had Verizon FIOS installed twice before - one at my office network, and once at another residence. Though I no longer use the residential service at my old residence, I still have my office service, and just recently I submitted a request online for Verizon FIOS to be setup at my new apartment.
So much for that plan. Its November 12, 2009, at 5:13PM and the Verizon installation technician was a no show. No one even called or showed up to say that the installation wasn't going to happen. That hasn't stopped them from robocalling my cell phone and spamming me with alert emails about how the FIOS install was "only two days away"!
Why do they bother with all the setup if they are just going to not show up?
UPDATE: Only four hours late, the Verizon installer called and showed up! I was VERY pleased to get the call and told him so. The install didn't take too long, so I am now up and running. :-)
Good stuff.
