This is actually kind of funny, kind of ridiculous, and kind of frightening all at once! Apparently the t-mobile Android-powered G1 came with a very serious security hole - one which gave owners’ root access upon boot!
This has made for some fun hacker experiments, but alas the window has been closed. T-mobile has issued a security patch for the mistake and run the the fix automatically over the air.
