The Kyocera KR2 is a nice router with some terrific features, but it still needs a little more work to be great, in my humble opinion.
Design
From an aesthetic standpoint, the KR2 is a thing of beauty. But does that count for a router? Not really... maybe a tiny bit.
Special Features
From a functionality to price standpoint, I've never seen a router like the KR2. It is able to do so many things, I almost wish they would tone it down a little and focus on doing a few things less! I bought it for its "3G" wireless internet capability, but it has a traffic shaper, a firewall, wireless LAN, failover capabilities... see what I mean? The wireless LAN is even really good - WPA2 security - ready, set, go!
Reliability
Since I opened the box, the KR2 has worked 100% of the time - that's impressive, but that's what routers are supposed to do, right? "Just work" and that's it, but remember this is a mobile internet router!
The Main Problem
The main problem with this router is almost a show-stopper, but works just enough to make it passable - the GUI management interface. It is buggy when used with Iceweasel, and is a bit confusing in a few spots. For example, all the "Save" and "Cancel" buttons are at the top of the page, not the bottom, like almost every other web application in the world.
Summary
All in all, the KR2 is a winner, but they need to improve the GUI with the next firmware release.
