My business has been using Verizon FIOS for about two months now and I'm starting to wonder how and when I'll get the rebate they promised me. I can't find the documentation on it in any of the paperwork they gave me, so I guess I'll have to call them.
If anyone knows, feel free to share the knowledge! :-)
Also note that so far I'm quite pleased with the service. We have the 20Mbps up and down - it's fast!
I've been waiting since February. Every 4 weeks I call, and they tell me they'll mail the rebate form in 2-4 weeks.
I switched to Verizon bundle in December and have YET to get my rebate. Even as much as they wrote me to tell me I didn't qualify but would do it anyway, and still haven't sent my rebate. Customer service only transfers and transfers. I can't wait for my 2 years to be over and I'm out of them! I will not recommend anyone to go to Verizon services.
After switching to a FIOS bundle costing $200 a month, customer service just indicated that I do not qualify for the $200 best buy rebate because I previously had verizon land line services. After waiting on hold for 45 minutes, I am told that a supervisor will call me back. Comcast broadband was faster than FIOS and Verizon's follow-up on customer service has been week in a number of areas. I do not think that they are correct to deny the rebate - given that I swithed to a $200 bumdle. If there response is technically correct, be wary of their promises. They twice said that my rebate was in line to be processed - now I don't qualify. not too good.
I have something that may help. I ordered Verizon FIOS from a FIOS representative at Circuit City for my home and didn't get the rebate check. After 6 months and finding out that the FIOS rep had been fired and the number for his manager was out of service, I decided to call Verizon FIOS. I was tranferred about 5 times before I found someone helpful. I suggest calling the Verizon sales and Billing dept.
call 1-888-553-1555 and Say 'Agent'
They should be able to look up any and all promotions and steer you to the right place. For my rebate, I had to call rebateshq.com 1-866-577-7585 and have them resend my rebate.
Good luck to all of you and don't give up.
Thanks Ben! That is a huge help. I still haven't received my rebate yet so I'm going to call them today and find out what is holding up the check!
I did a refer a friend offering 150 each rebate and yet to see it.
It has been almost 5 months! When I call Verizon they know nothing of it, and state they only deal with online rebates!!
Our happen to be a Verizon Sales Rep going door to door!
What kind of crap is this???
Verizon has a separate Rebate Center (from their general customer service office). The contact numbers are: 866-279-0438 for Residential customers, and 866-889-3762 for Business customers.
You need your service phone number (plus name and address) and your approximate service install date when you call in. I didn't have my service install date when I called in (because I kept rescheduling the installation), but they were able to research it for me, and confirm that a rebate was due.
It's been five months since I got my FIOS internet, and I've spoken with representatives from the Rebate Center several times, each time getting new and different information regarding how soon I will get my rebate. I just got off the phone with a manager, this time, and she told me that my rabate was mailed out in the end of May. I had spoken to someone back in mid-June, and they failed to mention then that a check had even been mailed out to me two weeks prior. They've basically been telling me "your check is scheduled to be mailed out by the end of the week", "it takes 2-3 weeks for processing before the check is mailed out", "we will mail you a form on how to claim your rebate" (really?), "no we do not send a form, we send the actual rebate" (huh?), and now the latest - the check (that was supposedly mailed out in the end of May) expires after 90 days, after which, they will have to redo the entire process of issuing a rebate and getting it out to me, which takes 4-6 weeks... Oh, and by the way, they have to wait the entire 90 days for the check to be unclaimed, they can't just cancel it to expedite the process of resending it.
I love Verizon's products, but their customer service is trememdously lacking - plain and simple. I feel like they are giving me the run-around, not intentionally, because I see no reason why their representatives would blatantly lie to me or any other customer, but they are clueless as to what is going on, and how things work. Over the period of five months, I've gotten information from three or four different representatives - each telling me something inconsistent with what I had been told before. And, as it stands now, apparently I will have to wait roughly 60 more days for the rebate check to expire for me to [more than likely] call them back so they can reissue and re-mail it to me, which takes, as mentioned before, approximately 4-6 weeks for processing and delivery.
By the way, I did also inquire with the manager as to whether or not anything was returned to them by the Post Office, and she said no. I have been getting all my other mail, and Verizon's rebate department has my address correctly (as I confirmed today), so I'm baffled as to why I haven't gotten the mail that they said they sent me over 30 days ago. But, as Ben advised, I won't give up, and I suggest you don't either.
I suggest calling Mr. Ivan G. Seidenberg , who is the CEO of Verizon. The CEO's office wants to hear problems going on with their companies and they usually have "special" customer service departments where things get done! The phone number is 212-395-1000 (that is the direct Verizon Corporate line). Ask to speak to Mr. Seidenberg and you will get to the right place.
