So last night some important fiber optics cables in the Mediterranean were severed - apparently by accident. I'm amazed to learn that both cables were cut within hours of each other, what are the chances of that?
The New York Times and Bloomberg are reporting that India and Egypt and the surrounding areas are experiencing lower capacity internet service to the rest of the world. Ouch! The traffic must be getting routed via wireless, satellite, or other deep sea cables.
