It seems like the new iPhone has set the bar quality wise as far as phones go. I personally don't need one because I have an iPod and my verizon cell works just fine. I wonder, are there any companies out there even trying to compete with the iPhone?
With agreements like the iPhone Starbucks deal, the iPhone is becoming a smart business model with cross-marketing opportunities for Apple. Why aren't more companies taking advantage of the hype involved with cell phones, like Google for instance? There are so many rumors about a Gphone, but nothing to back them up.
Personally I think the iPhone isn't all that its cracked up to be. I believe a phone should do what its supposed to really well, allow you to talk with other people who are far away. Everything else is less important. While a lot of people like email on their phones, I prefer to use a computer for that. Anytime I need something more than a phone but less than a laptop, I'll use the nokia n800, I think they've got the best device out there, though I do wish it had better thumb keys.
