Google Phone Linux Details

One of my favorite websites, LinuxDevices.com, has a great story on the Google phone, aka G Phone, and how it purportedly will run linux.

linuxdevices.com: Linux to power Google GPhone?

I keep saying how much I would love to use a linux-powered Google phone. My Motorola e815 is over two years old and is still working great, but I've grown tired to Verizon Wireless's high prices. I would prefer a wifi phone with cellular capabilities. Speaking of which, I wonder why the iPhone doesn't have wifi capabilities. My best friend Jeremy just got an iphone for his birthday, and he said the battery time is great - but I'm going to check in with him in a few weeks to double check on that.

The closest thing to a wifi phone that I own is a nokia n800. It is powered by linux and is very very cool. It features Google Talk, but I've never even tried that feature. I don't talk on the phone with enough tech people to play with stuff like that, though I do get to talk to the regular folks in my life over VOIP thanks to Asterisk and Galaxy Voice.

Maybe I can get my nokia n800 to make calls over the plain old telephone system (POTS), that would be rad!
