I've had it with astlinux and trixbox and elastix. Give me debian and give me asterisk. I'm installing etch from CD to a CF card on an ASUS Terminator that contains a C3 and 256MB of RAM. The goal will be to have a better box for communications.
While the astlinux project has a "via" distro, the current version doesn't have longhaul.ko included. What gives?
Anyway, I'm installing Debian "Etch" 4.0 using the following settings:
- 1 partition, ext2, noatime, and no swap
After I reboot and install the required software I'll likely make the partition readonly.
I may offer my image if it works well enough.
OK, so the longhaul.ko module only brought the computer's power consumption down to 24 watts from 25 watts. :-)
Guess I'll stick with Astlinux. I'm keeping the image just in case.
