Verizon Wireless recently updated their cell phone lineup, and since I've been on the lookout for a new phone from them for the past several months, I just reviewed the choices. While there is a lot more to choose from, I still didn't find anything I liked. What do I want? Good battery time, OBEX transfers, lens cap on the camera, and that's about it. Why can't anyone figure it out?Verizon Wireless CDM 8945
- Get It Now - I never use this, so it means nothing to me.
- Mobile Web 2.0 - ditto
- Removable Memory - This feature is a must have for me, since I require the ability to transfer media files (music, movies, etc.) to and from my phones (especially if bluetooth OBEX is disabled, VZW!).
- V CAST Music - no thanks, too expensive and inconvenient for me.
- Video Messaging - ditto, not worth it to me.
- Battery: 210 minutes of talk time - not nearly enough!
- Price - free with 2 year contract.
- Email - this might be nice, but Verizon Wireless probably charges extra for it. Checking now... its able to do so via "Wireless Sync" - which requires a data plan, adding another $20-$50 to your monthly bill. No thanks.
- Battery life: 235 minutes of talk time. Price: free with 2 year contract.
- Speakerphone - pretty good feature, nice to have, not required for me though.
- Free
- Battery - 180 minutes of talk time. Ouch!
- In my humble opinion, this is one boring looking phone.
- Price: free with 2 year contract
- Battery - 207 minutes of talk time
- Bluetooth - "Phone does not support Bluetooth Object Transfer (OBEX) Profiles." Forget it!
- Battery: ~230 minutes of talk time.
- Price: $9.99 with 2 year contract
- This phone is even more boring than the other Verizon Wireless phone! I won't even consider this one.
- Price: $29.99 with 2 year contract
- Price: $29.99 with 2 year contract
- Price: $29.99 with 2 year contract
- Price: $29.99 with 2 year contract
- I think this is one ugly phone... sorry LG.
- Battery: 150 minutes of talk time. Boooo!
- Price: $29.99 with 2 year contract
- Looks cool but no real useful features.
- Price: $49.99 with 2 year contract - why the high price?
- Yawn....
- Now we're starting to get somewhere.
- Battery: 200 minutes of talk time.... not that great.
- Bluetooth - yes, BUT: "The Silver RAZR V3m supports the following Bluetooth Profiles: headset, hands–free, serial port and dial up networking. It does not support Bluetooth object transfer (OBEX) profiles. See Bluetooth for details." Not cool Verizon Wireless!
- Price: $49 for 2 year contract
- Price: $49 with 2 year contract
- Price: $49 with 2 year contract
- Price: $69 with 2 year contract - not worth it to me.
- Price: $69 with 2 year contract - not worth it to me.
- Nice looking simple phone, doesn't have iTunes though, like the one that Cingular/AT&T Wireless has
- Price: $69 with 2 year contract - not worth it to me.
- This phone is ultra-cheesy, no thanks!
- Price: $99 for 2 year contract - not worth it to me.
- Overpriced for a non-functional media phone (it probably works if you buy your media from Verizon Wireless's vCast service, which I'm convinced is less convenient that the DIY method)
- Price: $99 for 2 year contract - not worth it to me.
- This is a nice phone, supposedly you can modify the seem to enable OBEX, but my e815 is already done, and still works like a champ.
- Not worth the $99 for me, which would rope me into another two years of restricted service.
- Price: $129 with 2 year contract - not worth it to me.
- Price: $129 with 2 year contract - not worth it to me.
- Price: $129 with 2 year contract - not worth it to me.
- Cool concept, but you'd need to pay a lot more in monthly fees to take advantage of advanced features, like the QWERTY keyboard.
- Price: $149 with 2 year contract - not worth it to me.
- Looks like a quality phone, 2 megapixel camera, but still no lens cap!
- Price: $149 with 2 year contract - not worth it to me. What good are the extra megapixels if the lens is covered in lint?
- Battery: 200 minutes of talk time
- Wow LG makes some wierd looking phones...
- $199 with two year contract. Are you kidding me?
- Like the regular razr, only not as good, because it looks FATTER!
- $199 with two year contract. Are you kidding me?

What is the diffences in the Motorola Razr Maxx Ve and the Motorola R2? Also will the R2 be released in June 2007 as scheduled or will it be another 6-12 months?
Hi Eddie, Good question! I actually don't know the Motorola R2. I'll do some research on it and write it up here.
