Google has opened its free 411 service for calling local businesses. As you may know, some carriers (especially mobile phone services) charge for 411 service.
The number to call is:
1-800-GOOG-411 (1-800-466-4411)
You can call this number from any phone. As Google notes on their page, while their 411 service is free, normal telephone charges may apply from the carrier.
