This month's Consumer Reports included a review of Internet Service Providers (ISPs). What immediately caught my eye was the category for fiber-optic broadband providers. The only problem here is that Verizon is the only company listed. Though its true that they are the only company that offers it, it is a problem that noone else can provide it, given that Verizon is going about delivery so slowly.
In the article, Consumer Reports omitted availability. If they had included it, Verizon would have gotten a lower score than they did, in my humble opinion. As you can see, I wish I could get FIOS and am grumpy that I can't. :-(
On the flip side, I am glad that Verizon ranked number one out of seven contenders for DSL.
