Android Central
This is the Telecom Rebirth page for all things Android!
I own a Droid X and I'm really impressed with the hardware, and even more impressed with the operating system. I'm not impressed with how Motorola setup the phone, specifically that there is a ton of garbage bloatware / crapware that I will never use and cannot remove.
The Droid X I bought shipped with Android 2.1, but I'm expecting an over-the-air upgrade to be available before 2011 which will include Android 2.2, aka Froyo.
Android Software Development Kit
The Android Software Development Kit (SDK) is fairly easy to get up and running on Ubuntu. It requires Eclipse, which was easy for me to install. After that, a couple of downloads, some configurations, and voila - I compiled my first Android app!
